FORMIC ACID
Formic acid is one of the fundamental organic chemical raw materials, widely used in industries such as pesticides, leather, dyes, pharmaceuticals, and rubber. It can be directly utilized in fabric processing, tanning, textile dyeing, and the storage of green feed, and it also serves as a metal surface treatment agent, a rubber additive, and an industrial solvent. In organic synthesis, formic acid is used to synthesize various formate esters, acridine dyes, and a series of pharmaceutical intermediates.
1 Pharmaceutical industry: can be used for caffeine, metamizole, aminopyrine, theophylline, theobromine borneol, vitamin B1, metronidazole, mebendazole processing.
2 Pesticide industry: can be used for the processing of powdery rust, triazolone, tricyclazole, triazole, triazophos, paclobutrazol, enoxazol, insecticide ether, trichloroacetic acid.
3 Chemical industry: manufacturing a variety of formates, formamides, pentaerythritol, neopentyl glycol, epoxidized soybean oil, epoxidized octyl esters of soybean oil, tert-pentyl chloride, paint remover, raw materials for phenolic resin.
4 Leather industry: used as tanning agent, desiccant and neutralizer for leather.
5 Rubber industry: used for the processing of natural rubber coagulant, rubber anti-aging agent manufacturing.
6 CO is produced in the laboratory.
7 Check for cerium, rhenium, and tungsten. Test for aromatic primary, secondary amines, and methoxy groups. Determine the relative molecular mass and crystallization solvent methoxy, which is used as a fixative in microanalysis.
8 Formic acid and its aqueous solution can dissolve many metals, metal oxides, hydroxides and salts, and the resulting formate can be dissolved in water, so it can be used as a chemical cleaning agent. Formic acid does not contain chloride ions, so it can be used for cleaning equipment containing stainless steel materials.
9 It is used for blending apple, papaya, jackfruit, bread, cheese, cream and other food flavorings as well as whisky and rum flavorings. The concentration in the final flavored food is about 1~18 mg/kg.
10 Others: can also be used to manufacture dyeing mordant, dyeing agents for fibers and paper, treatment agents, plasticizers, food preservation, animal feed additives and reducing agents.
